Injection PW not on the CAN bus? Well it’s not a problem 🙂 GCU had allowed using FREQ_in as alternative input until 1.1.2 update. New release delivers same functionality to DIG_inputs!
WHAT DO WE NEED INJPW FOR?
Injection pulse width is tells us how long injectors are open and inject fuel into the engine. This parameter in conjunction with fueling and engine details allows us to calculate torque precisely and precise torque is one of KEY FACTORS of succesful CLOSED LOOP operation. If Your ECU doesnot report Torque, or does it imprecisely due to it’s design / age / mods we suggest using HTG GCU FUEL MODEL torque estimation.
HOW TO WIRE INJPW?
If InjPW cannot be provided over CAN bus (easiest way) then it’s possible to use FREQ_in or DIG_in to sense it.Injectors have 12vly on one pin and control signal on other – ECU switched ground signal. Simply tap into signal wire adding in-line resistor (to avoid injection even dropping / DTC) of value for example 1000ohm (this value may vary for different setups).Only one injector connection is needed unless engine using split injection – then 1 injector of every group. Split injection configuration is described in another article.
HOW TO CONFIGURE INJPW?
SImply select DIG_in / FREQ_in MODE as Time. While using FREQ_in adjust trigger voltage to achieve nice and clear signal. Measures time in uS.
