Transmission control is strictly related to engine torque. Therefore proper torque input or calculation is mandatory.
Torque estimation selection can be found in GEARBOX -> General settings menu.
Available options:
- Torque tables
- Torque input
- AIR model (calc)
- AIR_only model
- FUEL model v3 (calc)
- FUEL_only model
- FUEL model (LEGACY)
Torque input #
Torque from external source (usually ECU) input to the GCU. In most cases this is the best possible option. Using CAN bus presets for OEM ECUs has this message included if it’s available in the stream. Modern ECUs calculate torque based on variables reporting real value, but some older ECUs report simple table value or have limited range. If You are unsure about this method please contact HTG support.
GCU FUEL-model calculated torque #
Fuel based model giving precise torque value but requiring more inputs to the GCU. Bases on: TPS, PPS, MAP, IAT, baro, Injection time, Ignition angle. This section will be expanded soon.
- FUEL model (calc) v3.0
Fuel based model giving precise torque value. THIS OPTION IS RECOMMENDED FOR CLOSED LOOP unless Your ECU provides precise torque value over CAN bus. - Torque tables
User defined torque tables - AIR model (calc)
Basic torque calculation done by GCU based on AIR parameters
